Snip-Doesn't a redist exe come with the Fallout installation by default? If so, I've seen it and installed it. No luck.Yes, but bear in mind Fallout3 came out in late 2008.

Here's the file: I only used the d3d9.dll not the fallout.ini file. It tricks fallout into thinking. Fallout 3 Patch, get the mod manager version and then the fwe patch, don't install the patch. NVAC, after installing, open the information pop up of this mod in the left pane of MO and go to the Filetree tab. Change the NVSE folder's name to FOSE.

Installing the game on a modern machine + O.S. May require that additional step I mentioned to fix the problem you're experiencing with the d3d9.dll from ENB.Here's some links that may contain useful info. Hopefully this'll help you out further. Thanks for the links. The guy on Reddit was in the exact same situation as me. Unfortunately, I have all of my drivers, all of the Windows updates, have tried all of the fixes and still, nothing. The June 2010 directx redist goes in the game folder, right? I also installed it on my C: drive and ran the exe on both. I replaced the older version located in the game folder by default, nothing.

I recently upgraded to windows 10 from 7, 64 bit and thus far I have been enjoying windows 10. Lots of good content so far!ONE MAJOR PROBLEMI am first and foremost a gamer, and I use steam for a lot of games.

Steam itself seems kind of unstable on 10, but overall, not a problem. I bought fallout 3 and enjoyed playing it on 7. But on 10 it will not launch.

I can start the launcher (sometimes)and hit play, but the moment I hit it, it crashes. I would LOVE to be able to play this still. I've looked at TONS of fixes, and none have worked. Either finding me a fix, or making windows 10 more compatible to previous software would be great.

Thanks forhelp! Hi,Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.I would suggest you to try installing the game in compatibility mode.Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on‘properties’.c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.Keep us posted if you face any issues on windows in future. We will be glad to help you. Thanks & Regards, AS. I've tried compatibility mode before, and it didn't work. This time, unfortunately, was no exception. I've tried all compatibility packs and this error persists: 'the procedure entry point SfmDxGetSwapChainStats could not be located in the dynamic link libraryC:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonFallout 3d3d9.dll.' Any ideas?EDIT: I've deleted the DLL file and it seems to work now. Windows ten appears to me to be far worth the upgrade, even for gamers, and workarounds CAN be found!for future people with issues:i am running windows 10, 8/9/15compatibility mode: vista pack 2 (may not be important)DLL file (D3D9) deleted from the fallout 3 folderI AM running modded, but may not a problemI AM running steam edition NOT GOTY.good luck.
